Warnings at work: The basics…

Even the most experienced human resources manager needs a refresher from time to time.  So, today we focus on ‘warnings at work’.

The three most common disciplinary warnings are:

  1. Verbal
  2. Written
  3. Final written

What exactly is a final written warning? A good definition is:

A disciplinary warning is an oral or written statement made by an employer informing the employee that their conduct and/or performance level is not acceptable and that any further failure to meet the required standards will result in stronger measures being taken.
