COIDA SCHEDULE 4 COMPENSATION
It is important that employers note the following:
Amendment of Schedule 4 compensation under the COID Act
Government Gazette No. 53669, Notice No. 3605 of 2025, was published on 14 November 2025 by the Department of Employment and Labour. In this notice, the Minister of Employment and Labour published amendments to Schedule 4 of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA). These amendments introduce updated minimum and maximum compensation amounts.
The amendments apply to accidents occurring on or after 1 April 2024 and to occupational diseases diagnosed on or after 1 April 2025.
The amended compensation limits are effective from 1 April 2025.
Please note that Section 49(1) of Schedule 4 now includes four different categories, in contrast to the previous amendment of Schedule 4, which contained only two items under Section 49(1).
