ADDITIONAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY DECLARED
It is important that employers note the following:
1 September 2026 declared a public holiday
The Zambian Government declared Tuesday, 1 September 2026 a public holiday to coincide with the swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect and Vice-President-elect.
This was a once-off public holiday and will not be observed annually. Employers should ensure it is accurately reflected in their September 2026 payroll and attendance records.
