DECEMBER 2025 – GHANA
NATIONAL DAILY MINIMUM WAGE 2026
It is important that employers note the following:
Determination of the National Daily Minimum Wage (NDMW)
In accordance with Section 113(1)(a) of the Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651), the National Tripartite Committee (NTC) has concluded negotiations on the 2026 National Daily Minimum Wage (NDMW) at its meeting held on 9 November 2025.
The NTC has approved a 9% increase over the 2025 NDMW, resulting in a new rate of GHS 21.77 per day, which equates to GHS 587.79 per month, based on a standard 27-day working month.
Effective 1 January 2026, all employers are legally required to adjust the wages of employees earning below or at the new minimum threshold. Furthermore, the 2026 NDMW remains exempt from income tax, consistent with existing tax policy on minimum wage earnings.
